The 1990 ZXR750 H2 kept the H1 chassis and 749 cc four-valve engine but with revised carburation (38 mm carburettors) and a few parts previously sold only in the race kit. Kawasaki pitched it as a lower-priced rival to the RC30. Reviewers praised its stability and braking but criticised its peaky, harsh power delivery.
